I bought this because I liked the concept...It was different and that's what I love the most about this contemporary romance. It had some really steamy encounters...yum...and I really liked the chemistry between Echo and Ghost Diva. I can definitely relate to how people feel more comfortable wearing a "mask" of protection, and then have a hard time taking it off so they can relax enough to be comfortable with themselves and are afraid to embrace happiness with another kindred soul, because they fear being wounded again. The glimpses at Echo's friends and label mates were another plus to the story -- they were believable characters and very funny during the tour bus chit-chats. I wish the story had been lengthened a little more; after all, there's still so much to explore in the lives of this couple...his terrible ex-girlfriend, the cute daughter that's mentioned but not introduced, and where does Gabby's career go from here? Perhaps an expanded edition or a sequel from the author? That would be great! I think a weak point is that a lot of the tale is told in narrative (instead of a dialogue between the two lovers, we are actually viewing most of the story from their thoughts and perspective) and flash forwards. Overall, it was a couple hours well spent and I enjoyed it so much that I really wish there was more to dive into. Grade B+Product details

I forgot to leave a review, but I adored this story. The characters were very tangible in their aspirations to become more than they were. And their passion for music and the people they cared for was, for a lack of a better term, inspiring. Gabby is a tough yet tender hearted young woman who wants to make a name for herself and find her place in the world. Her persona of Ghost Diva allows her the control she desires to maintain. And Echo is a broken hearted man who finds new life in the words and passion of Gabby. Yet her reception of him is not the warmest, when she perceives him to be just another misogynistic rapper. He and his crew turn the tables on her, when they show her how wrong her judgment is. Such an enjoyable read!
DESCRIPTION Up and coming rapper, Ghost Diva (Gabby to her friends), receives the break of a lifetime when she lands the opening spot on tour for multi-platinum rapper, Echo. And, to her surprise, their chemistry burns even hotter off-stage.
THE GOOD I'm not a fan of lyrics in books, but Ms. Tabu nails the ones she gives to her characters. I love that her H/H are terrifically conflicted within themselves and with each other, as two people in their separate situations would be. She sets up great situations for them, and builds sexual tension that you could cut with a knife. I found this story to be just ridiculously romantic and the characters really stayed with me.
THE BAD The hero has a daughter who's mentioned often, but whom we never get to meet.
THE NAUGHTY Steamy>Erotic. Sex on couch.
EDITING ISSUES A few typos, uses "taunt" instead of "taut."
LENGTH Novella (20,000 words)

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was worth the money and I can't always say that about some of the other books that I have purchased.
I wish it was longer, because it was so good. The story and characters were believable.
Stepping into the Hip Hop world was a risk, but the author delivered.
I will read anything by this author. Keep on writing!
I wish this could have been longer. It ended so abruptly. I hate when we never get to realize a good books full potential.
I have to say that I loved the hip hop aspect of this story. Ghost Diva/Gabby was a character that I could relate to ...smart and witty. She tended to take herself too seriously sometimes, but she got over that. Echo needed more development. His daughter was mentioned a lot throughout the story, but we never meet her, never get to know anything about her...she just seemed superfluous. The ex girlfriend was also an after thought. I just wish there was more.
