So many Christian fiction books seem identical with only the names and locations changed but same boring, sappy plot. This was refreshingly different and I found it hard to put down.
Usually when you spend 99 cents it is for a novella but this was a nice long, satisfying book and I loved it! I loved all the different plot lines for each of the girls and how their plans went awry and mistakes were made but then the ending was wonderful! Highly recommend.
I really enjoyed this book! I really appreciate a good historical fiction with Christian characters. Keep up the good work.
This was a very interesting story. It was different enough to keep you very interested. I didn't want to stop reading. The only constructive thing I would say, and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars, was the conversation was a bit stilted. It was almost as if the author really wanted to fit a longer story in a shorter book. Because of that, each scene wasn't really played out. Still though, I'd recommend it because it truly was a good story line!
I enjoyed this immensely. This was even written like the time period. I know I know....it's about the wealthy....but with a human side. And this really existed. Romance prevails. MOST women weren't that strong then, (sorry, great-grandmother Sauvage strong enough to divorce that "sponge").....Read this....for real....
Thoroughly readable, romantic novel. The premise involves wealthy women, watching their father being wooed by a money-chasing woman, deciding to test their future husband's prospects by pretending to be not-quite-so-wealthy. Confusion & mayhem occur and they supposedly learn a lesson about honesty and love... except not really. Enjoyable characters, but too far-fetched fairy-tale to be a four or five star.
It started out boring, and I thought I would not like it, but it improved. So, I can actually say it is pretty good. The characters were likeable. The sisters were very rich, but not spoiled, they did not act liked all they cared about was money. The sisters wanted to make sure that the man that married them, did it for love and not their money. Their scheme worked, that is why some parts was funny.
